My hair is naturally textured so curling my hair is generally a lot easier than straightening it or doing anything else! My hair also holds curl really well so how I curl my hair might not work as well for people with thinner or naturally straight hair.
What I Use:
Before curling, when my hair is still wet, I use this Aveda heat protectant.
I like to use a wand and have been using this one since Christmas.
I prefer this hairspray because it’s super light and keeps my hair from getting crunchy but if your hair doesn’t hold curl as well you might need to use a stronger product.
I recently tried a curling trick I had seen on the internet but didn’t believe actually worked. Come to find out…it does!! It probably works better for me now that my hair is longer and it has become my goto!
All you have to do is put your hair in a high ponytail and curl small sections. I then take my hair down and do touch-up curls where I need! But if you have shorter hair, or more layers this technique won’t work.
My other method is to curl the hair in layers. I section off the bottom layer and curl 1in sections away from my face on both sides. I repeat the process until the bottom layer is done and then move onto the next layer. If you want the curls to be more relaxed you can hairspray them right after curling and then brush through your hair at the end, creating bigger curls. For beach waves I recommend curling small sections and in different directions, not just all away from the face.
I love curling hair because curls can be dressed up or dressed down depending on how you style your hair! Let me know if there are any products you love for your hair or if you have any questions!
I have tried SO MANY different hair products. My hair is always my primary focus when I’m getting ready and because it’s thick and textured, most of the time I don’t wake up with it looking perfect. When I need a quick fix, many times I use sea salt spray. But the issue with salt spray is that your hair ends up crunchy or sticky and you aren’t capable of changing it up later in the day. Thus, most of the time I resort to lots of heat. I blow dry, straighten, or curl and basically ruin my hair. Of course I use a heat protectant but that much heat every day takes a tole on the hair. That’s why I was so so so happy to discover this product!!
Phytodefrisant Straightening Balm is by far the best product I have every used in my hair. And I’m not exaggerating in the slightest!! All you have to do is put it in wet hair and if you want, you can be done! My hair dries so smooth and straight just letting it air dry! The product is also super light and doesn’t make my hair feel heavy or weighed down whatsoever.
But that’s not all!! If you don’t want to air dry, the product also works amazingly well when you blow dry! The label says it’s heat activated and I believe it! After using a blow dryer I barely have to go back through at all with a straightener! There’s no frizz, no fuss, and it takes hardly any time at all to make my hair look great!
Yes, it is called a straightening balm however I’ve used it and then curled my hair and get super big and loose curls that hold.
I would recommend this product to anyone looking to get gorgeous hair with no fuss! Waking up for early classes and not having to worry about how my hair is gonna look has been a blessing in college!

During the school year I feel the need to always have my hair done and looking good. But in the summer I’m all for just letting it be. However there are times when I like to jazz it up just a tad while still looking super casual while putting in minimal effort. Here are a few of my go-tos when I can’t just leave it alone but want something super easy…
A ponytail is as simple as it gets. Super easy, super cute, what more can you want?
Straight hair can be a pain for me sometimes because my hair is naturally wavy and thick. Sometimes I’m not down for the whole blow-dry then straighten situation but when I’m not being lazy, straight hair can be super easy. It can also be dressed up or down!
Now, my hair is naturally pretty wavy so beach waves with salt spray is super easy and works super well with my hair! There are so many ways to get those beach waves they may need a post all on their own! But for these waves I used this salt spray to do the trick!
Half Up Half Down//
One of my favorite hairstyles! Probably half the time my hair is in one variation of this style! It is so easy and so so cute!!
Honestly in the summer my go-tos are beach waves or natural. If I absolutely have to dress up, I go for the straight hair or try to style my beach waves. Seriously, the least amount of effort I can put in with my hair still looking good is what I go for!
